Beginning in a small Somalian village our main character Assimil is introduced. Despite living in a small broken down house with his single mother and 4 sibblings (two of which are handicapped) Assimil is somehow still able to remain a sweet young boy that is beloved by each reader. As the story continues Assimil’s story unfortunately gets worse and eventually seems hopeless. However, Assimil proves his shining bravery and perseverance by never giving up hope and fighting for his life. In the end, Assimil’s story is greatly turned around. He is able to provide for his family while simultaneously helping the world with his hope and brilliance. This story will inspire each person and bring a feeling of hope to all children in poverty.
